Shipping and delivery

Orders are generally prepared and shipped within 1 week after reception of payment. For orders of folded maps, they are shipped using the international priority service of the French Post. For rolled maps and the globe, the shipping service is the parcel delivery service of the French national post, Colissimo international, which provides online tracking and drop-off with signature. Upon fufillment of your order, we will provide you with a tracking number and a link to follow up online the delivery of your parcel.

Since March 2018, Colissimo international applies the shipping standards currently in force. This means integrating the concept of dimensional weight when calculating the carriage costs.

This concerns parcels sent by air to French Overseas territories and international destinations with the exception of:  Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, United Kingdom, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

Dimensional weight is calculated by multiplying the 3 dimensions of your parcel in centimetres and dividing the result by 5,000 (L x W x H) / 5,000.
La Poste will apply the rate corresponding to the dimensional weight, if this is higher than the actual weight of the parcel.

Shipping fees include handling and packing fees as well as postage costs. Please note that when placing an order including folded and rolled maps and booklets, the system will automatically generate two separate orders in order to be able to calculate the shipping fees that apply to each mode of shipping, that is to say, in an enveloppe via the priority post, or rolled in a tube via the Colissimo international service. Rolled maps are carefully packaged in order to ensure their reception by the buyer in good conditions. However, CGMW is not responsible for the anomalies that may occur during transportation due to mishandling by the agents of both the French or overseas shipping companies.

In the event your parcel presents visible damages at the moment of the delivery, we advise not to accept the parcel and return it to the sender, and give notice to us in order to file the relevant complaint before the Colissimo service. Upon reception of the returned parcel, the order will be re-shipped at no charge for the customer.
