Description

This CD-ROM contains the interactive version, updated in 2006, of the Geohazard Map of East Asia, the printed version of which was published in 2002 by the Geological Survey of Japan.

The aim of this version is to make all the information on the printed maps available to the public in an easily searchable form, enhanced by additional information that can only be accessed in digital form. The maps and all the data can be viewed and queried using the GeoHazardView software, supplied free with the CD. This programme is also used to manage and update information on geological hazards in the region.

The software only works under Windows.

General co-ordination and synthesis by Hirokasu Kato and Koji Wakita of the Geological Survey of Japan, AIST, with the collaboration of experts from : Cambodia, China, Japan, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, as part of the East Asia Natural Hazards Mapping Project (EANHMP).
