Structural and Kinematic Map of the World-PDF

This map was designed to familiarize the general public with the movement of the Earth's lithospheric plates as part of the International Year of Planet Earth.

Based on data from the Seismotectonic Map of the World (CCGM, published in 2001), eleven files in pdf format show the different levels of information on the map. The presentation of the kinematic data of the Seismotectonic Map has been reworked to allow better readability of the arrows indicating the relative movements of the plates, in particular along the accretion zones of the oceanic ridges.
